Q3 2017 – October 15, 2017

Charleston, SC – Otis Elevator Company, the world’s number one elevator provider, has awarded Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) a contract to design and build a 1+ megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system at their manufacturing plant in Florence, SC. Our team of Professional Engineers (P.E.) and NABCEP-certified PV designers, installers, and technicians are excited to work on this project. Otis Elevators, based in Connecticut, was founded in 1853 by Elisha Graves Otis, who invented the world’s first hydraulic passenger elevator the year before. Today, Otis products can be found in high-rise buildings, hotels, airports, and malls around the globe, including the Empire State Building in New York City, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and at Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Our team won a contract with the Coast Guard Academy, and we will begin designing two roof-mounted systems on their New London, Connecticut campus. More information to come.

In addition to working with Otis and the Coast Guard Academy, our team completed our work at the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in California. The facility, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, is now home to a 168.3-kilowatt solar PV parking canopy, designed by our in-house Professional Engineers (P.E.).
