Q2 2016 – July 15, 2016
Charleston, SC – Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) has completed three large projects in addition to being selected to install, and in two cases design, roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays at Target Department Stores across the state of South Carolina. HSGS will provide engineering and construction services for Greenskies Renewable Energy and is greatly looking forward to the collaboration. As design and installation is already underway, HSGS expects seven new solar PV systems to be up and running in a few short months. Four stores receiving energy services are in the greater Charleston area, two in Columbia, one in Lexington, and one in Aiken. More information to come.
HSGS completed construction of multiple solar photovoltaic systems at Join Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The PV systems, totaling 887 kilowatts in energy, is located in Honolulu for Hawaii’s Air National Guard. Our team of engineers designed four different components: one ground-array, one roof-mounted array, and two parking canopies. The largest component is the 550-kilowatt ground-mounted solar PV array, which supplies power to both the F-22 Squad Operations Building as well as the Aviation Ground Equipment building on base. HSGS’ design resulted in the F-22 Squad Operations Building becoming the Hawaii National Guard’s first net-zero energy facility due to the combined solar output of all renewable energy systems. The Hawaii Air National Guard can anticipate the energy produced will save over $800,000 in energy expenses yearly.
In addition to the project at the Joint Base, our team finished installing a 120-kW ground-mounted system at Davis Monthan Airforce Base in Tucson, Arizona. The system will help power the base’s EC-130H Simulator and Training Center where military flight simulations and modern training systems are practiced. Our Professional Engineers (P.E.) designed the system to generate over 33,300-kilowatt-hours of electricity for the base annually. Nearby, at Tucson International Airport, our team completed installation of a 502.3-kW ground-mounted solar PV array. Our team designed this system that will generate more than 888,000-kilowatt-hours of energy for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) each year.
