Q2 2024 – July 15, 2024

Summerville, SC – As HSGS-Ameresco proceeds with our work on four joint-venture projects, Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) continues searching for opportunities. Most recently, HSGS was awarded a contract to design and install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system under K-Con Building Systems for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This contract, called “Pier Romeo,” is a full overhaul of the NOAA’s facilities and docks in North Charleston. HSGS will provide design and construction services of the solar photovoltaic component of the project.

As a port-city that receives dangerous weather during hurricane season each year, Charleston is a prime spot for the NOAA to conduct climate research off the coast. Renovations will include a new pier, warehouse, sea wall, living shoreline, and other supporting infrastructure. This project will allow NOAA to dock two vessels—the Ronald H. Brown and the Nancy Foster— from their fleet of 15 research and survey ships.
