Q4 2017 – January 15, 2018
Charleston, SC – The past three months have been a reflection of our team’s hard work and dedication. Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) has completed two important commercial projects, and has been awarded three more by the federal government, including our first two projects in the South Pacific Islands.
Our teams have finished construction at a large commercial project. We were contracted by TIG Sun Energy IV and SCE&G to design and build a 2+ megawatt ground-mounted photovoltaic system named Otarre Solar Park in Cayce, South Carolina. We have completed a beautiful 2.03 MW system that pushes SCE&G over their goal of generating at least 42 MW of utility-scale solar energy by 2020. In addition to the system for Otarre, HSGS completed construction for Federal Correction Institute (FCI) Thomson in Illinois. The system, made of two ground mounted arrays, totals 1.26 MW of energy. The FCI Thomson project was under an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), and it will provide energy to the penitentiary without any upfront costs.
HSGS has been awarded three large government projects: the installation of a 2+ MW system for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Texas, as well as a microgrid installation for the U.S. Air Force and a microgrid design-build contract for the U.S. Army—both in the South Pacific. The projects will be located in the Marshall Islands and are expected to be our most challenging yet. Our NABCEP-certified designers, installers, and Professional Engineers (P.E.) are more than ready for the challenge.
