Maintenance & Commissioning
Our Maintenance & Commissioning (M&C) team has a proven track record of delivering proactive and reliable support to our clients. Our work ensures the longevity of their solar PV and Microgrid systems, achieving optimal energy efficiency and savings. Learn more about our process below.
The Importance of
Maintenance and Commissioning
A clean energy system needs to be taken care of just like one would take care of their car. Preventative maintenance visits, which are typically yearly checks, are proven to save money for the client and increase the longevity of a clean energy system. It only takes a small amount of shade to stop energy production for an entire PV module. Animals like to nest in inverter boxes and storms leave behind damage and debris. Loose or corroded wiring and faulty inverters, if they are not addressed in a timely manner, can lead to component damage, system shutdown, or worse dangers like fires and electric shock hazards.
Our team will inspect, analyze, and troubleshoot until we are certain our work has achieved maximum production and output for our client, ensuring their system is running at peak performance.
Benefits of an Maintenance Program
Enhanced System Performance
Regular monitoring allows for real-time detection of issues, ensuring that the system operates at optimal performance. Preventative maintenance checks help prevent potential problems, reduce system downtime, and ensure consistent energy production.
Extended System Lifespan
Renewable energy systems achieve longevity with the help of maintenance teams performing routine maintenance of the different components of the system. Early detection of issues and timely repairs prevent minor problems from escalating to major failures.
Cost savings
An efficient maintenance program achieves reduced downtime and maximizes energy production and financial returns. Lower repair costs are a product of preventative maintenance, which is generally less expensive than reactive repairs and reduce overall maintenance costs over time.
Commissioning Services
The Final Step
Commissioning entails inspecting and testing PV and Microgrid systems to ensure they meet design specifications, perform efficiently, and operate safely. The HSGS Team has commissioned numerous clean energy systems ranging from 5 kW to 10MW.
NABCEP Certification
The HSGS Maintenance and Commissioning Team consists of NABCEP certified professional and licensed electricians. We are continually training our team with safety and technical courses to ensure we stay sharp and up-to-date with the latest technologies.
3rd Party Commissioning
HSGS offers 3rd party commissioning independent from an installer or developer to ensure a client’s system is built and performs as promised, confirming the system produces the expected energy output.
Planned Maintenance Now Avoids Unplanned Setbacks Later.
Typically we provide multi-year maintenance contracts to commercial and government agencies, ensuring their systems will be maintained to the highest of standards. For those with contracts, we spend anywhere from a few days up to multiple weeks each year addressing issues caused by shading, animal damage, weather, or electrical issues. When we’re not in the field, we keep a close eye on their systems year-round using the latest monitoring technology so that we can catch any minor problems before they become major failures. After more than 15 years, we’ve perfected our performance to a process our clients can trust, leading to long-term relationships that keep renewable energy systems working efficiently for the environment and our clients’ bottom line.
